I need your help!
Good morning everyone,
Today is not a great day for us health care administrators in the great U.S. of A. As many of you may already know, due to sequestration, reimbursement for services and drugs provided to Medicare beneficiaries was cut by 2%, effective today, April 01, 2013. No, this is no April Fool's Day joke. This cut in payment will effect health care on some levels. I know this because I've been an administrator for a busy oncology practice for a very long time.
As a result of these cuts, providers will be forced to reduce staff to stay above water, reduce office hours to manage overhead, which will result in patients not receiving timely care without having to spend a whole day in the ER—this could surely affect one's health, and could even cause providers to close their doors, which will limit one's option for suitable health care.
